The Human Element, Leadership and Management (HELM) course develops the leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills required for effective shipboard operations. The programme focuses on communication, teamwork, decision-making, situational awareness, resource management, conflict resolution, workload management, and leadership techniques in a multicultural maritime environment. Participants will learn how to lead teams safely and efficiently, manage human resources, and promote a positive safety culture onboard. The course meets the requirements of the STCW Convention, including the leadership and managerial competencies required for officers serving at the operational and management levels.
