This Marine Environmental Awareness course is designed to provide seafarers with the knowledge and understanding required to protect the marine environment and comply with international maritime environmental regulations.
The course covers pollution prevention, waste management, MARPOL requirements, environmental responsibilities on board ships, energy efficiency, ballast water management, and practical measures to reduce environmental impact during ship operations.
Participants will gain awareness of the importance of sustainable maritime practices and environmental protection in accordance with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) conventions and Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) requirements.
This training is intended for officers, ratings, and maritime personnel working onboard vessels who are required to understand environmental compliance and safe operational practices within the maritime industry.
Upon successful completion, participants will have improved knowledge of marine environmental protection procedures and international regulatory obligations under IMO conventions including MARPOL and relevant STCW guidance.
