The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) General Operator's Certificate (GOC) course provides comprehensive training for deck officers and radio operators responsible for maritime communications on vessels operating in all sea areas. The course covers the operation of GMDSS equipment, distress, urgency and safety communications, search and rescue coordination, NAVTEX, EPIRB, SART, AIS, Inmarsat and Digital Selective Calling (DSC) procedures. Participants will gain the knowledge and practical skills required to comply with the requirements of the STCW Convention and the Radio Regulations, ensuring effective communication and enhanced safety at sea. Successful candidates will be prepared for the GMDSS GOC examination and certification.
